The case of missing wells and a marriage

How many films in india involve marriage and corruption/bribe (and love)?. Well, the question should be how many don't.

While i can't say i enjoy all of Shyam Benegal's films - i'm happy for the humor and lighness of the last two ventures. Welcome to Sajjanpur and Well Done Abba. Just finished the later and if at all anything took away it's humor, it's something i have seen before.

Vadivel Comedy from Kannum Kannum

And that somewhat prevented me from having genuine moments of laughter though the acting and the satire and characters are all awesome - like in most Benegal's films. I only wish he maintains this style of logically absurd film-making that reminds of Woody Allen's Deconstructing Harry (1997), the way all the characters - the ensemble cast - come together to produce a satisfying result, not following a particular pattern - creating it's own.

Well Done Abba is a very special one - Boman Irani

It's funny how we look at India, the people and the chaos and no reason/all emotion state of affairs. A love/hate, comedy/serious, everything's a drama (fun and the not-so-funny) especially when it's too much to know/clean up/do anything about for any one person. What needs clean up? It's just people having a ball or blast...! Nothing's wrong and things take their own course. Natural evolution/emergence... and in the mean time, artists and audience and everyone gets worked over while trying to make it work. The great democracy machine separating people who Know and Don't, Haves and Have-Nots and so on. Just like any other place.
